A bit about us:We are currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and dynamic individual to join our team as a VP of Finance/Controller. This is an outstanding opportunity for a finance executive with operational experience and a proven track record of creative problem-solving and change management to join in a high-growth, mission-driven organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization, in conjunction with the board of directors and the senior leadership team.
A CPA is preferred, as well as non-profit experience in about a $50 million dollar organization or better. Someone who has experience working woth, and presenting to the board is a must!

Job DetailsResponsibilities:
- Lead the execution of the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare comprehensive financial updates, including relevant and insightful analysis, for monthly/quarterly board meetings.
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- Oversee the preparation of all financial reporting, including the budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including Withholding Payments, Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax.
- Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation.
- Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.
- Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the executive team; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization's financial status.
- Experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Automated Financial and Accounting Reporting Systems.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience with non-profit accounting, Single Audit, A-133, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with strong accounting experience.
- CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
