SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Manages Marketing/Communication/Development Team and demonstrates expertise on associated platforms including donor, giving, project management and web. Experienced and detail-orientated and ability to provide leadership and team proficiency while acting as a resource for the team and liaison to HFS leadership. Maintain and oversee donor/sponsor/giving information and record-keeping to create efficiencies and maximize productivity by managing daily development and marketing/communications operations in support of the department’s initiatives including fundraising activities. Requires continual problem solving, ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, decision making, development and marketing knowledge, and communication with internal and external audiences.
Compensation range: between $55,000 and $70,332 (salary is determined by total years of relevant experience).
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in nonprofit management, business or related field.
- Proficiency in management of technology platforms, CRM management strongly preferred; knowledge of donor platform preferred.
- Marketing and communication experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in fundraising strongly preferred.
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Some nights and weekends required.
- Valid driver’s license/acceptable driving record required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- *Supervise staff on the Development and Marketing & Communications Team.
- *Manage and coordinate daily objectives for the Community Relations Department, working with the Chief Development Officer to achieve HFS strategic goals.
- *Assist in fundraising initiatives and special events, including corporate solicitations, sponsorships for the Gala, Safe Haven Golf Event, Strike a Chord, and Salute to Families. Generate financial post-event reporting, including gift/donation database entry, acknowledgment letters, and sales tax reports.
- *Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer on marketing campaigns such as donor cultivation, annual solicitations, and Investor packages. Manage and share up-to-date fundraising progress reports.
- *Implement systems for effective use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, focusing on donor relations, analytics, and best practices in data management and reporting.
- *Oversee the recording and categorizing of monetary gifts in the CRM, processing acknowledgment letters, and managing a retention process. Use CRM’s capabilities (queries, imports, exports, donor journeys, campaigns, and analytics) to optimize targeted marketing and information sharing.
- *Develop and review systems that support donor prospect strategies and goals, ensuring timely tracking of donor prospects through evaluation and cultivation leading to gift-giving.
- *Implement mail and email solicitation strategies (e.g., Annual Report, donor recognition, newsletters, and annual campaign) by organizing donor outreach, donor segmentation, volunteer management, and appeals using appropriate platforms.
- *Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the CRM data and document processes. Provide training for CRM upgrades and ensure effective data management practices.
- Collaborate with Development Managers to engage with the Friends Guild and volunteers.
- Oversee communication with event sponsors, manage reservations, create donor/sponsor content for events and ensure fulfillment of sponsor benefits, and oversee event volunteers.
- Manage the donation record process for gifts in-kind, including inventory management and data entry.
- Assist in prospecting new donors, and in cultivating and stewarding relationships with volunteers, donors, and stakeholders.
- Generate invoices for outstanding donations and pledges.
- Oversee and contribute to the design and copy for HFS print and digital assets.
- Provide creative direction and support for Community Relations in the planning and execution of agency events.
- Plan, develop, and defend budget recommendations and objectives for initiatives and staffing.
- Monitor progress of all creative projects, ensuring deadlines and goals are achieved.
- Train and supervise assigned creative personnel, including freelancers, volunteers, and interns, ensuring work is on brand, budget, and schedule.
- Serve as the point person for external vendors and manage contracts.
- Maintain workload to meet deadlines and confidentiality of agency clients and contracts.
- Display a courteous and caring attitude at all times toward staff, clientele, volunteers, and visitors.
- Perform other departmental and agency duties as assigned.
